Personal Tailoring and Bespoke Tailoring for Autumn / Winter 2007 – 2008
Purple Reign – and so long may it continue
The new seasons colour palette has certain continuity with the Spring / Summer 2007 season with the palette of grey darkening into more anthracite in shade. We see strong colours being used as accents especially purples and oranges coupled with the emergence of window pane checks being a very strong design element within many cloths. Apart from the traditional autumnal and winter colours which will always work, we see a trend for black and white to be used in stark contrast on the same garment to aid the clean silhouette.
By utilising a wide range of fabrics, we have more than 10,000 available; texture is the key to this season. Tweeds, velvets, silks, fine wools and mohair are used to create a garment that has a fourth dimension. The majority of tailors are not keen at “marrying” up two totally different fabrics for example velvet and mohair, one is a dry fabric and the other is a fluid fabric. In both our ranges whether it be Personal Tailoring or Bespoke Tailoring we utilise the very best tailoring techniques to achieve that perfect bond which enables us to create your unique garment.
Suits
For the team at Nicholas Jones Bespoke this season’s suit fabric is about super 120’s wools in moody greys with strong accents of colour in the pinstripe. Waisted jackets with deep side vents to give a defined impression of the contour of the torso with two button jackets being de rigueur. Design elements include open sleeve vents with a flash of lining to add inspiration to the dull closed winter days. Piped pockets with elements of your shirt included in the jets.
Jackets
Funky nights out, whether in your home city or Monaco a Nicholas Jones Bespoke jacket will differentiate you from even the most “in” crowd. This season we have honed in on taping seams and jets with blending colours to accentuate the cut of the jacket. Velvets and double faced silks in two button half lined jackets are the mainstay of our interpretation. There is a renaissance in tweeds where we have used velvets to highlight the collar. Scooped out patch pockets have had their pockets lined in velvet.
Coats
Tweeds, cashmere’s and heavy cottons make our coats stand out. Very much like the jacket’s we have focussed on texture, colour and fit. Contrasting collars and lapels make a strong statement about your identity. Be bold, be elegant be you.
Bespoke Shirts
This is a special season for the launch of what we believe to be unique to Nicholas Jones Bespoke. You can now have elements of your suit in your shirt. With our understanding of fabrics and design we are now able to put your suit cloth into individual elements of your shirt. The three piece suit has a whole new meaning.
Gingham remains strong with shades of purples and lilacs coming to the forefront. Dusky blues, pinks and greys are strong from our Italian Cloth mills whilst white and crisp still go together in the world of shirting but this time add some colour into the gauntlet, yoke, inner and outer collar band or under cuff, subtle and stylish. Why not try Italian Black super 140’s cotton for the main body and then add a tight black and white dogstooth to the inner collar band, yoke and gauntlet.
There are one thousand languages but style speaks them all.
