Nicholas Jones Bespoke Spring / Summer 2008 collection
Here we go again with another exciting season with a range of new fabrics that push the boundaries both on a technical level and how they drape across the figure. Both Scabal and Dormeuil have produced a colourful palette with interesting patterns and textures leading to the imagination running wild.
However our message this year is to keep it simple ensuring our designs are crafted to the individual with a strong emphasis on the patterns and colours.
The colour palette of grey is still running strong like it has done for the last two seasons but with a slide towards light summery greys in fine fabrics blended with wool and silk which offers the wearer a cool and smooth comfort in the summer. Window pane checks with a neutral colour for the main body of the cloth with a toned down purple or lilac for the check is strong and makes great suits for events where the jacket is half lined to give a cool and summery feel to the garment. Another strong contender for the colour of the season is blending the colours of brown and blues in various shades where a shade of brown is used as the base colour and the blue is used as an accent either as a check or stripe.
Suits
At Nicholas Jones Bespoke, our chosen suit fabrics for this season are composed of wool and silk which translates into a matt sheen which oozes quality. These lightweight fabrics are available from the Scabal and Dormeuil ranges in plains, stripes and checks. Our styling remains constant, waisted jackets with deep side vents to give a defined impression of the contour of the torso with two button jackets being preferred but also using 1 button jackets with peak lapels to create a slightly more contemporary line. Design elements are kept to a minimum as the form is more important.
Jackets
Funky nights out, whether in your home city or Miami a Nicholas Jones Bespoke jacket will differentiate you from even the most “in” crowd. This season, like our suits, we have kept it simple and let the tailoring and fabrics do the talking. From white linens and cottons to breezy unstructured window pane checks in subtle summery shades with patch pockets complete the look.
Bespoke Shirts
This season sees colour being injected into our shirts to contrast with the suit fabrics. Plain 2 fold poplins in bright oranges, punky pinks and vivid yellows with a more leisurely 2 button barrel cuff and accentuated collar, designed to be worn open necked with the top two buttons undone. For the shirts with jackets we have utilised soft shades of lilac, wispy whites and cool linens to complement the unstructured nature of this seasons looks.
In both our ranges whether it be Personal Tailoring or Bespoke Tailoring we utilise the very best tailoring techniques to achieve that perfect bond which enables us to create your unique garment.
There are one thousand languages but style speaks them all.
